I wish step 10 was a big more accurate than "get more water" to make it up to 1 quart.... how much "more" water is required?? wouldnt of been hard to figure out and post the amount needed to get to 1 quart as you were making it.

A 89-serving bag requires 2 gallons of water where a 1/2 cup serving requires 1 & 2/3 tbps of mix (note: there 148 & 1/3 tbsp of mix per bag). So that's .3596 cups of water per serving. 1.5 quarts equals 6 cups or 12 (1/2 cup) servings. 12 * (1 & 2/3) = 20 tbsp of mix, which equals 1.25 cups or 10 oz. For water, add 12 * .3596 = 4.3152 cups or 34.52 oz. For 2.1 pints, you need 14 tbsp or 7 oz of mix and 3.02 cups of water. You might add a little less water to the extent the mix adds volume to the mixture.

They have started selling Dole Whip at several local stores, and even grocers (from a soft serve machine).

I'm curious "why" the mix doesn't have the CREAMY (ice cream soft serve) apperance? The ones at Disney Theme Parks didn't look so rich in color.
Q: Is there any cream in it at all?
Perhaps, it takes the "SOFT SERVE" MACHINE (that "slowly" churns the mix & H20) to get that ideal "appearance".
Well, I guess the appearance is not a big deal...the "taste & texture" is what really is matters. ;-)

Q: Just wondering...how much does the dry mix cost?  What is the shipping cost to the mainland from Hawaii?
P.S. My speakers are broken on my computer and I couldn't "hear" what you were saying about the shipment or cost.
Please post when you get a chance. Thank You!!!!

I made my first batch using the mix tonight.  I have the same Cuisinart ice cream maker and followed Ricky's instructions exactly, except for I put the mixture in the refrigerator for about an hour before I placed it in the machine.  In the end, it looked exactly like it does on the video, maybe even a little thicker.  Impressive for not having a real soft serve machine.  Tasted just like the real deal.  Amazing.  Thanks Ricky!!!

I just wanted to thank you for that great little video. We haven't been to Disneyland for a long time and the Whip was one of our favorite things to get along with the Tiki Room. It just took us right back there. Thanks. Could you give an idea of the cost for the mix and where you got it?

I think I will add milk instead of water or a mixture of milk and heavy whipping cream for a creamier taste.

The Dole Whip and soft serve mixes are now vegan. When this was done 6 yrs ago the mix was not. If you go to the website shown in the video you will see the ingredients now and the notation they are now vegan.

@mcbjvhgurl Dole Whip is much much better than just some frozen pineapple yogurt.

I was assured in Hawaii and at Disneyland that Dole Whip is a vegan product, however, the ingredients you showed point to the contrary. Thanks for posting this! Glad I'm not vegan, but my friends will be disappointed.

Another option would be to stop by a frozen yogurt store and pick up some pineapple yogurt (given you can find a store that has some- I've seen pineapple dole whip at a Menchie's in Orlando), take some pineapple juice, get some parfait cups and there ya go!

@noequalrecords I would assume that by replacing all or even half the liquid with milk would result in a better result. As the person below seemed to have trouble I can only speculate that the reason being was because they added too much water at the end. By adding milk however you create a better suspension/emulsion and thereby have a better colloidal reaction and a creamier texture. Hope this helps! (P.S. Do not substitute skim, 1%, 2% milk or whole milk. Heavy cream all the way!)

This is great, but if you have the Pampered Chef Measure All and Mini Whipper, where is the 2 quart batter bowl? ;-D

Wonderful and it turned out just like the video shows! I bet those who said it did not freeze right might not have frozen their maker bowl overnight. Love Disney, love Inside the Magiv, love Dole whip!

when I go I spend most of the money my parents give me for the day on this and the churros, and yet I'm still skinny as heck. that stuff is so good I must make my parents get some so we don't have to go to Disney every month.

Step 1: buy it Step 2: make it Step 3: eat it I though this would be some sneaky way to make Dole Whip on your own. Not just a "go buy it and follow the directions" kind of thing :/ Not that exciting.
